I remember a season of life where I struggled to see the blessings all around me, struggled to see beyond the storms. As I learned to lean into God and began to really discover prayer, I soon began to see nothing BUT blessings. For the following year, I could only pray prayers of thanksgiving. I knew I should be covering other topics with God in my prayer, but my heart was overflowing with gratitude for this attitude shift. I wanted to sit in the thankfulness for a while.
A heart overflowing with gratitude
Coming out of this Lenten season and this “Pray Deep” series, I feel the same. I can’t stop praying prayers of thanksgiving to God for this season and how powerfully He’s been at work around me. I can’t stop praying prayers of thanksgiving for each of you who come to this blog and read these words. Friends, each of you. I’ve been praying for you daily. I pray that these words I humbly write and publish may allow God to speak something to your heart. I pray that you may find God more clearly in your own spiritual walk.
Surrendering to Pray Deep has deeply moved my heart
This series on prayer has blessed me personally in ways I can’t find words to express. God has shown up in ways that still astound me, ways I never expected. He’s spoken through words I felt weren’t good enough, yet He’s shown He’s enough to speak through whatever we give Him. He’s led me to so many wonderful, rich conversations and new friends whose names I hold dearly in my heart.
I just want to sit awhile in the thankfulness and breathe in the wonder and majesty of God. Sit awhile and absorb what He’s been doing here in this space.
May I ask a favor? I’d love your feedback in this Reader Survey!
I stand here now at a junction, staring at a blank writing calendar and wondering what’s next. Six months ago, I outlined a writing plan through Easter, seemingly forever away, and now we’re here. A planner without a plan… So, I humbly ask you to bear with me as I find my way forward.
Last month, I quietly celebrated the 1 year anniversary of this blog. At this milestone, I think it’s a good time to pause and reflect and ask for feedback. Would you do me the favor of filling out a brief reader survey? I’d like to know more about you, your feedback on what you like in this space, and your ideas of what you’d like to see next.

Will you join me in this prayer of Thanksgiving, taken from the Book of Common Prayer?
Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love.
We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side.
We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us.
We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.
Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.
Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen.
